Eligibility for UAW Retiree Medical Benefits
You must meet the following criteria for UAW medical Eligibility:
- You must be a retiree from a UAW-represented position when the Trust was first bargained in the fall of 2007, or you must have attained seniority at that time as an active employee.
- You are receiving a pension from your auto company’s pension
- You are discharged for a certain reason, despite receiving pension. You need to retire in a normal way.
- Retirees can cover dependents, including a spouse and/or children
- All Trust members must enroll in Medicare Part A at age 65. Failure to enroll will result in loss of eligibility for Trust coverage.
